Our teachers
Karen Bergquist Lüth, Flute (Studio director)
Karen Bergquist holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with Walfrid Kujala of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Thereafter she continued her studies with Samuel Baron of the Julliard School in New York and earned a Master of Arts in Flute Performance from the University of Iowa where she studied baroque and modern flute with Betty Mather. She continued on to do her PhD work in Musicology at Stanford University where she studied baroque flute with Robert Claire, of the acclaimed French baroque orchestra Les Arts Florissants.
As a performer, historian and flute teacher she has helped nurture this inner song in many children and young adults, and has been inspired as they have carried this music with them into their lives.

Tam Thi Pham, Piano
Tam Thi Pham is a Vietnamese multimedia composer, improviser, and performer currently based in Hamburg, Germany. Trained in jazz piano, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and a Master’s degree in Multimedia Composition from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, Tam has worked with students of all ages, from young children to adults, offering both private and group lessons. She has taught at various institutions, including “Sol Art” and “Do Re Mi” music schools in Vietnam, and has also been involved in teaching music perception at summer camps.
Since 2023, Tam has been teaching music at our studio and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Hamburg, continuing to share her passion for music education.
Piano lessons with Tam can be in English, German, or Vietnamese.
Roko Matijevic, Piano
Roko Matijević was born 2002 in Zagreb, where he began his musical education at the age of seven in the piano class of prof. Nenada Kačar at the Zlatko Baloković School of Music in Zagreb. At age ten, he started competing in international competitions, where he achieved remarkable results. Throughout his education, he won over 40 first and special prizes, several times as the absolute laureate of the competition, at state and international competitions throughout Europe and the USA, among which are the first prize at the HDGPP state competition, the Lions Grand Prix award for the best performance a work by a Croatian author, first prize at the Golden Classical Music Awards in the USA and second prize laureate at the Festival of Slavic Music in Moscow. He performed in some of the world’s most esteemed halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Parco della Musica in Rome, Rachmaninoff Hall in Moscow, Musikverein in Vienna, Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Albert Hall in London and Jazz Hall in Hamburg. Since October 2021, he is studying with prof. Aleksander Madžar at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. During his studies, he has worked with numerous respected Croatian and foreign piano pedagogues: K. Bogino (Russia, France), K. Krasnitsky (Belarus), Đ. Stanetti (Croatia), N. Patarčec (France), M. Kandelaki (Russia), R. Dalibaltayan (Croatia), S. Čaldarović (Croatia) and J. Zlatar (Croatia). At the invitation of the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia, he performed several times at Villa Prekrižje in Pantovčak. He filmed for the Croatian national television (HRT).
Alongside his studies and professional activities as a concert pianist, Roko has studied pedagogy at his university and has gained experience teaching students of all ages. Since his childhood, Roko worked with many brilliant teachers, including world famous musicians and he is eager to share what he has learned from them.

Milica Stoiljkovic, Violin
Milica Stoiljkovic, born in Serbia, graduated in 2017 from the Belgrade Faculty of music. Currently, he working on her Masters in violin performance at and music education the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, in the class of professor Sebastian Schmidt and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors both here and internationally. She is eager to work with young learners, as well as older beginners.
